Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a <br /> hazardous waste. Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for the grinding <br /> and sanding waste, and manage it according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 microns or <br /> smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a <br /> statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> The damaged freight in the warehouse is being packaged in overpack drums and placed in a holding area. <br /> According to Mr. Carrasco, the details of the drum contents are submitted to the hazardous waste department, <br /> which gives a disposition for the waste, letting them know to handle it as reusable material or as a hazardous waste. <br /> Mr. Carrasco stated that the amount of time to receive this disposition could vary, but may take 2 days to a week. <br /> Drums were observed on site with dates of 6/26/15, 10/21/15, 10/26/15, and 11/9/15 with no disposition and no <br /> hazardous waste labeling. These drums were observed papers affixed to the top with information, listing the <br /> following contents: <br /> - 20 gallon drum Paint Thinner <br /> Three 20 gallon drums Paint <br /> - 20 gallon drum Dichlormethane <br /> -20 gallon Ethanol Flammable Liquid <br /> - 95 gallon Misc- Cleanup Warehouse <br /> -Two 95 gallon unidentified ORM-D <br /> Mr. Carrasco and Mr. Ken Nolan stated that all hazardous waste determinations are made by the hazardous waste <br /> department. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately <br /> make a hazardous waste determination for the warehouse freight drums, and manage them according the Title 22 <br /> hazardous waste regulations.
