NOW
Mr.Jeffrey Wong
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
25 March 2011
Unified
Distribution Center-Stockton
OVERVIEW
Earthquake
The occurrence of a major earthquake in California has been predicted as a
highly probable event in the foreseeable future.
Should any widespread disaster situation occur, it is doubtful that emergency help
would be readily available. Additionally, vital services such as power water. and
communications may be interrupted.
This plan is designed to minimize the danger to personnel dunng and after an
earthquake at Unified Grocers' Stockton Facility. It is predicated on the assumption that
outside help will not be available and that the facility will be dependent upon its own
resources to provide internal safety.
Warehouse management is responsible for the implementation of all safety measures
and for ensuring that personnel are properly trained.
All personnel are urged to cooperate fully - the ultimate success of the operation, as
well as the safety of you and your fellow workers will depend on how well you are
informed and prepared.
Basic Precautions
Keep Calm-Avoid panic and confusion.
Take Cover-Protect yourself from falling objects.
Stay where you are-if indoors stay indoors.if outdoors, stay outdoors. Most injuries
occur as people are entering or leaving buildings. After the main shock has subsided
walk to the emergency reporting center
Do not attempt rescues or other feats That are clearly beyond your ability- Thirlh
through the consequences of your actions.
Follow the directions of your supervisors-Their first consideration is your safety
IMPORTANT TO ALL PERSONNEL
DO NOT JUMP OFF DOCKS
REMAIN WHERE YOU ARE UNLESS YOU ARE SURE IT IS SAFE TO MOVE
oxz+mc
