CPT Investigation Work Plan Summary <br />Geosyntec Consultants — June -July 2012 <br />Field Investigation <br />A cone penetrometer test (CPT) investigation will be conducted with the objective of evaluating the <br />vertical and horizontal extent of 1,2-DCP and 1,2,3-TCPin groundwater. A total of approximately eight <br />CPT brings will be advanced to as deep as the CPT rig can push until refusal, or until a maximum depth <br />of 150 feet below ground surface (ft bgs) downgradient of the former John Taylor Fertilizers facility (the <br />"Site"), located at 1819 South Argonaut Street in Stockton, California. CPT logs will be completed at the <br />five proposed locations shown in Figure 5, with locations in South Stockton Street, West 2nd Street, and <br />West 3rd Street, and on the western perimeter of the City of Stockton Fleet Maintenance Yard property at <br />1465 South Lincoln Street, pending a response to our request for access. One to two additional borings <br />will be conducted immediately adjacent to each CPT boring for sample collection. Additional step -out <br />locations will be determined depending upon the results of the investigation at the first five locations. <br />This CPT investigation was approved by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, as indicated in the <br />attached letter dated 17 May 2012. <br />Pre -Field Activities <br />Prior to field activities, the existing Site Health and Safety Plan will be updated as needed in accordance <br />with California OSHA requirements. <br />Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified 48 -hours in advance of invasive subsurface work, and <br />a private utility locator has been retained to perform a geophysical survey in the vicinity of each boring <br />location to identify utilities, pipelines, or other subsurface obstructions. <br />
