Renaldo Crooks
Registered Sanitarian
Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin Local Health District
P. O. Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Dear Mr. Crooks :
I want to inform you of the progress being made on the
irregularities noted in your inspection report dated
April 21, 1986. We are progressing toward disposal of the
laboratory waste noted in your report but we are unable to
comply with the May 21 deadline.
I have applied to EPA for a generator number but have not
received anything back from them. As you are aware, we will
not be allowed to order the required shipping manifest until
we have a generator number.
A predisposal sample has been submitted to IT Corporation
for their evaluation. I have been told that we will have an
answer back from them by the end of this month. If I have
the generator number by then, we may be able to dispose of
the waste in early June.
At the time you were here you indicated that you would send
me a list of approved haulers operating in this area. As of
this date, I have not received your list . I would appreciate
receiving it so that we can explore avenues other than IT
Corporation for disposal of the material .
I trust that in light of our unsuccessful efforts to comply
with the May 21 deadline an extension would be approved.
i1 ,
y Sorensen
ervisor
Quality Assurance
LS: eer
cc: Frank Lett
Lyle S.
