It is equipped with an indicator to tell when it needs to be replaced. <br />See EH&S for a replacement. <br />Task 2 <br />Ensure no open flames or sources of heat are nearby. <br />Task 3 <br />Ensure the area is properly ventilated. <br />Task 4 <br />Ensure anti -static wire is installed—the alligator clip should be clipped onto <br />round source. <br />Task 5 <br />Separate paint cans from Non -Paint cans. Puncture only paint cans. Non Paint <br />Non empty cans are to be placed in a drum and labeled as a Universal Waste <br />Non Empty aerosol can. <br />Task 6 <br />Check paint collection drum to ensure it is no more than 70% full. If it is more <br />than 70% full, replace the drum with a new one. Put a new hazardous waste <br />label and accumulation start date on the new drum. <br />Task 7 <br />Remove aerosol can cap prior to placing the can into the unit. <br />Task 8 <br />Place the can to be punctured nozzle side down into the unit. <br />Task 9 <br />Lower sliding top plate down to firmly engage top of can. <br />Task 10 <br />Slowly squeeze lever to puncture can and allow contents to drain into drum. <br />Task 11 <br />Allow contents to drain for 20 – 30 seconds. <br />Task 12 <br />Remove punctured can from the unit. <br />Task 13 <br />Accumulate empty cans as'Scrap Metal'. <br />Task 14 <br />Clean area with shop rag and place shop rag in container for janitorial service <br />topick-up and service. <br />Abilities Required <br />Walking Standin Bending I Lifting Sitting Climbing Turning 75% <br />Min./Max. % <br />75% 100% 75% 50% 0% 0% <br />Key Hazards, <br />• - <br />Risks from <br />abnormal Conditions) <br />Hazards <br />Control Measures <br />The warehouse supervisor is responsible for compliance to this work <br />instruction.
