Air srW--r /17- <br /> Ile <br /> ECS REFINING PAGE: DOCUMENT N <br /> 1 OF 13 400-0006-0000 <br /> TITLE: CONFIDENTIAL REVISION <br /> Training Plan A - Draft <br /> 1.0 PURPOSE <br /> 1.1 This training plan is designed to document the training required of employees at <br /> ECS Refining and Regenesys Glass Processing, as required by Title 22, California <br /> Code of Regulations Section 66265.16(d). This document will outline how ECS <br /> Refining provides the necessary health and safety training, emergency <br /> procedures training, and hazardous and universal waste training to employees. <br /> This plan also documents the relevant job descriptions for employees handling <br /> hazardous and universal wastes, and will reference other relevant plans and <br /> procedures that concern training of employees. Certain elements of the training <br /> required for employees are covered by the California Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Administration (CaIOSHA) regulations, as noted. <br /> 1.2 The training program includes information about general plant safety <br /> considerations, chemical hazards present, hazardous materials handling, the <br /> control of associated hazards, and emergency response information. <br /> 2.0 ELEMENTS OF THE TRAINING <br /> 2.1 To accomplish the goals outlined in this training plan, ECS Refining will use a <br /> combination of classroom and on-the-job training designed to help the <br /> employee do his or her job safely. Appendix 1 of this training plan contains <br /> job descriptions for the specific jobs at ECS Refining and Regenesys Glass <br /> Processing which involve handling hazardous or universal wastes. <br /> 2.2 The elements of the training plan are as follows: <br /> Initial Training <br /> Initial classroom training is provided to each employee. The training is designed to <br /> notify the employee of potential hazards, to educate the employee about personal <br /> protective measures in place, how to safely operate machinery and processing <br /> equipment in the facility, how to correctly complete paperwork associated with <br /> tracking universal and hazardous waste, and how to appropriately respond to <br /> emergency situations that may arise at the facility. <br /> 2.3 Initial training is provided within the first six months of an employee's date of hire. <br /> Employees are not allowed to work in an unsupervised capacity prior to receiving <br /> the initial training as required by this training plan. <br />
