If for any reason the telephone system is inoperable <br /> or inaccessible, then use the internal employee alarm system by calling out loudly and <br /> clearly the words "Evacuate, Evacuate, Evacuate". <br /> 10.6 Evacuation Procedures <br /> a) In the event that the hazardous waste or materials incident threatens employees or other <br /> occupants of the facility an immediate evacuation shall be ordered by the EC in command. <br /> b)The EC or designee will announce the evacuation as described in Section V, 3, above. <br /> c)Employees,upon hearing the order to evacuate,or who otherwise become aware of the need <br /> to evacuate,shall notify other employees, safely cease operations,and evacuate without delay <br /> via the designated unobstructed exit. An evacuation plan (see Section VII,below)is posted <br /> in all work areas showing the nearest exit(s) and the location of the assembly area. <br /> d) Regardless of the exit used, all employees who evacuate must assemble across the street <br /> from the west side of the building,in front of the Grainger's facility. The EC or designee shall <br /> be present in this location to account for all personnel known to be on the site. No employee <br /> shall leave the site without specific authorization by the senior supervisor or designee. <br /> e)Employees shall not re-enter the facility for any purpose until specifically authorized to by <br /> the EC or designee. <br /> 10.7 Evacuation Routes <br /> a) If evacuation is required, the following routes must be taken: <br /> AREA EVACUATION ROUTE <br /> Inorganic Lab/Field Service Exit building thru the north door to the parking lot. <br /> Front Office Area Exit building thru front (main) door. <br /> Storage Exit building thru front(main) door. <br /> b) If any evacuation route is blocked by the hazard, the following secondary routes shall be <br /> taken: <br /> AREA EVACUATION ROUTE <br /> Inorganic Lab/Field Service Enter field services thru adjoining door,then exit building <br /> thru the front(main) door. <br /> Front Office Area Enter inorganic lab thru adjoining hallway, then exit <br /> building thru the north door. <br /> Storage Enter front office area thru adjoining door, then exit <br /> building thru front (main) door. <br /> c) As Required by CAL/OSHA regulation, evacuation routes are diagramed and posted in <br /> various locations at the facility. <br />
