November 11, 2010 <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> REPORTING A SPILL, EMERGENCY NUMBERS, EMERGENCY COORDINATORS <br /> HOW TO PROPERLY HANDLE A SPILL, SPILL KIT LOCATION AND CONTENTS <br /> REPLACING CONTENTS, PROPER HANDLING OF ABSORBANT, PROPER <br /> LABELING OF ABSORBANT. <br /> 1. Bob and I have named Emergency Coordinators, our telephone numbers have <br /> Been posted by each phone (show copy of form # EH-22-06-SQGER <br /> 2. We have made a spill kit; it is located in the container next to the waste oil drum. <br /> It contains: 1 bag of absorbent, broom, shovel/waste pan, 2 pair of gloves, and 2 <br /> Safety glasses, trash bags. The kit is labeled with the contents. On the label <br /> there is a section for the inspection of the kit, to be performed on a monthly <br /> basis. If you are assigned to inspect the kit, you will date and initial in the correct <br /> space provided on the label. <br /> 3. When a spill occurs, you are to contain it immediately with the absorbent <br /> provided; you will put proper safety equipment on. And you must notify Bob or <br /> Myself immediately. After the absorbent has absorbed the spill, sweep up, and <br /> dispose of the waste in the correct drum, if it is the first waste to be placed in the <br /> drum then the accumulation date must reflect the date. Clean up must be <br /> immediate. Containment must be immediate so it does not spread. For any <br /> reason the spill is out of control and we are not equipped to handle. (Le. fire has <br /> Taken place after the spill) Emergency numbers are posted near each phone, <br /> CALL 911 first, and then call Bob or myself. <br /> 4. The absorbent drum must be labeled at all times, a monthly safety inspection will <br /> include all waste oil drums and record will be kept. But if you notice the label is <br /> missing, and or illegible please notify Bob or myself. <br />
