Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste: <br /> At time of inspection: <br /> Sandblast waste from painting of trucks and trailers is left on the ground near where the painting operations occur without a <br /> hazardous waste determination. <br /> Immediately cease disposal of this waste to the ground. Make a hazardous waste determination pursuant to Title 22 <br /> hazardous waste regulations and handle accordingly or handle as hazardous waste. Within 30 days provide written <br /> documentation describing how this waste stream is handled. <br /> 11. Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste: <br /> At time of inspection: <br /> The secondary containment around the used oil tank had leaked oil onto the ground. Saturated oily absorbent was on the <br /> ground near the tank and the hw storage containers. Facilities must be maintained in a way to minimize the release of a <br /> hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the <br /> environment. Immediately clean the affected areas, handling the hazardous waste pursuant to Title 22 regulations and begin <br /> this practice of maintaining the facility in such a way to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> 20, 50. 1-55 gallon drum of waste antifreeze did not have a hazardous waste label. 11-55 gallon drums of unknown waste <br /> seen in the back, behind the boat without a hazardous waste label. 1-30 gallon drum of unknown waste seen in the back, <br /> behind the boat without a hazardous waste label. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following <br /> information: <br /> 1. the words"Hazardous Waste' <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties <br /> 4. physical state <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information. Since these <br /> containers have been on site longer than 180 days, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of <br /> this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD by December 2, 2010. <br /> 25, 27. Failed to remove waste stored in a damaged or leaking container: <br /> At time of inspection: <br /> 2-55 gallon drums of unknown waste were seen in the back, behind the boat with, damaged,both with holes in them. If a <br /> container holding hazardous waste is not in good Condition (e.g_ severe rusting, apparent structural defects), or if it begins to <br /> leak, the owner or operator shall transfer the hazardous waste from this container to a container that is in good condition, or <br /> manage the waste in some other way that complies with the requirements of this chapter. Immediately transfer this waste <br /> into a container in good condition, and begin this practice for future storage of hazardous waste. <br /> ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE($122). <br /> THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> EHD Inspe Received By: Title: <br /> EHD 2302-00 Rev 08/ 10 CONTINUATION FORM <br />
