0 <br />E <br />NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES <br />1. Depending on the type of release, handlers of hazardous materials and waste <br />are required to provide an immediate verbal report of any significant release or <br />threatened release of a hazardous material or waste to: <br />a. "911" —if emergency response is needed <br />b. CUPA: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department— <br />(209)468-3420 <br />C. California Emergency Management Agency — (800) 852-7550 —this <br />satisfies the state reporting requirement; obtain the CEMA control number <br />when calling. <br />Center — (800) 424-8802 or EPA "Spill Phone" — <br />d. National Response <br />(415) 744-2000 —this satisfies federal reporting requirements _ if the <br />e. City of Lodi Wastewater Treatment Plant — (209) 333-6740; <br />Spill may affect sanitary or industrial wastewater systems, drains etc. <br />f, Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region — <br />(916) 255-3000 — if the spill may affect storm drains or bodies of water <br />(rivers, creeks, ponds, etc.) <br />g. San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District — <br />(209) 545-5000 — if the Air Quality Management District regulates the <br />hazardous material (e.g., chemicals that evaporate or form clouds) <br />The California Emergency Management Agency will notify agencies such as the <br />State Emergency Planning Commission (SERC) (also known as the Chemical <br />Emergency Planning & Response Commission [CEPRC)), the Fish & Game <br />Department, and the Department of Toxic Substances Control (state level) as <br />appropriate. However, companies with knowledge that the spill may have <br />adverse effects on health or the environment should take <br />tathe <br />ni a ti e to notify <br />these other agencies because notification by <br />the Management Agency may be delayed.
