Failed to maintain spill control equipment. Two yellow spill pallets located in the chemical storage <br />"The Cage" area are half full of spilled motor oil. One blue spill pallet located outdoors adjacent to the <br />oil -water separator is half full of waste petroleum oil. The purpose of a spill pallet is to catch any spills <br />released from containers and not to store hazardous substance. All facility communications/ alarm <br />systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, decontamination equipment shall be tested <br />and maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Correct immediately <br />by removing the hazardous substances from the spill pallets and handle the substance according to <br />Hazardous Waste regulations, California Code of Regulations, Title 22. <br />Submit to SJC EHD within 30 days (05/26/11): <br />1. one copy of the completed "Return to Compliance Certification" form <br />2. a written corrective action statement for the above violation <br />Notes: <br />- In 2010 year, facility generated approximately 2.59 tons of waste oil and 3.58 tons of organic solid <br />waste 6.17 tons of hazardous waste <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE ($122). <br />THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />EHD Insp o <br />Received By: <br />TiUe: <br />M <br />EHD 23-02-003 Rev 08/10/10 <br />CONTINUATION FORM <br />
