Failed to completely label containers of hazardous waste. <br />• One red and one white 5 gallons buckets have storage of used oil have no identification. <br />• Secondary containment pallets have storage of used oil have no identification. <br />Any container storing hazardous waste must be properly labeled with the following information: words <br />"Hazardous Waste", name & generator's address, contents, physical state, hazardous property and <br />initial start accumulation date. Correct immediately by labeling these two 5 gallon buckets and the <br />secondary containment pallets of used oil with the above information OR immediately empty the buckets <br />and secondary containment pallets of used oil into a properly labeled drum of used oil. <br /># 27. Failed to keep containers of hazardous waste closed unless adding/removing hazardous waste. <br />• One red and one white 5 gallons buckets full of used oil have no lids. <br />• Secondary containment pallets have storage of used oil have no covers/ lids. <br />Any containers storing hazardous waste must be covered and closed unless adding/removing <br />hazardous waste to prevent contamination/ debris entering into the waste and to prevent spillage of <br />hazardous waste into the nearby floor drain. Correct immediately by placing a lid on the two 5 gallon <br />buckets and keep the secondary containment cover OR immediately empty the buckets and secondary <br />containment pallets of used oil into a properly labeled drum of used oil. <br /># 23. Storage of drained use oil filters >1 year. A black 55 gallon drum of drained use oil filters 144 full has <br />an initial start accumulation date of 03/09/2009. Onsite storage of >1 ton of used oil filter shall be limited <br />to 1 year, Correct by having a licensed hazardous waste hauler remove the drained used oil filters to a <br />hazardous waste disposal facility, Submit a copy of the disposal receipt to SJC EHD within 30 days <br />(09/12/10). <br /># 50. Storage of hazardous waste onsite >180 days, A red 55 gallon drum of used oil nearly full has an <br />initial start accumulation date of 02/2010. A small hazardous waste generator can store hazardous <br />waste for up to 180 days = 6 months. Correct by having a licensed hazardous waste hauler remove the <br />55 gallon drum of used oil. Submit a copy of the disposal receipt to SJC EHD within 30 days (09/12/10). <br />Submit to SJC LI -11) within 30 days (09/12/10): <br />1. one copy of the completed "Return to Compliance Certification" form <br />2. a corrective action statement for the above violations <br />3. requested / supporting documentations <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME A880CIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE (5122). <br />THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />EHD Inspector.
