It was nice talking to you as well. Yes, and keep me updated. We would like a copy of the final report,
and water analysis for the water sample you took. As for the disposal records, I am asking for the final
manifest. If the waste is going to be picked up or consolidated with other waste at this facility, please let
me know.
Thank you
Haza
From: Jung, Jowin [mailto:JJung@sfwater.org]
Sent: Monday, November 20, 2017 3:50 PM
To: Haza Saeed [EH] <hsaeed@sicehd.com>
Cc: Scott, Anthony <AScott@sfwater.ore>; Macaulay, Ian <IMacaulay@sfwater.org>; Lindow, Terry
<TLindow@sfwater.or¢>; Gambon, Paul <peambon@sfwater.or¢>; Nelson, Chris
<c n e l s o n(@sfwa to r. o rg>
Subject: Notice to Abate -Tesla Treatment Facility: details regarding the corrective actions
Hello Haza,
It was nice talking to you on the phone today. I wanted to make sure San Francisco Public
Utilities Commission (we) captured your concerns or the corrective actions accurately. Below
are the corrections listed in the Notice to Abate, and some comments from me to boot.
1.) Investigate and abate contamination under the oversite of the appropriate lead
agency.
- This means we will confirm there is no new residue inside the reactor through water
sampling, and nothing made it to the drinking water system. On a side note, the State
Water Resources Control Board regulates what's in our pipes, and we're continuously
making sure we're not exceeding the maximum contaminant level.
- If we do need to mitigate, you want to know if there is a procedure in place for
mercury contamination.
2.) Submit copies of hazardous waste manifest/disposal records to the EHD
(Environmental Health Department) within 30 days.
- Did you want the copy of the manifest when the hazardous waste is picked up from
the Tesla Treatment Facility or the completed manifest?
Please let me know if there is anything else that I missed.
Sincerely,
