West Lane, Paascoe's Watercraft Center
The above referenced facility has been identified as a generator of waste
oil. The following information is provided to assist you in the proper
handling of this material.
Waste oil is considered a hazardous waste in the State of California
pursuant to Title 22, California Code of Regulations, Section 66680,
because it is likely to contain a hazardous material [for example: heavy
metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), etc.] Any disposal of waste oil
must be managed in accordance with the generator requirements outlined in
Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, Article 6, unless a waste
analysis is performed verifying no hazardous constituents are present. A
detailed waste analysis is a costly procedure. Therefore, to attempt
classification of waste oil as non -hazardous is generally an unreasonable
management method.
To dispose of waste oil in storm drains, sanitary sewer systems or to the
land is illegal and may result in the taking of enforcement action by the
California Department of Health Services, Toxic Substance Control Division.
Substantial penalties can result from failure to comply with the law.
If you are a residence, you are exempt from the generator requirements
outlined below. There are many recycling centers available to properly
dispose of your waste oil.
