This facility's hazardous waste ID number is inactive. A hazardous waste generator shall not treat, store, dispose of, transport or offer for transportation, hazardous waste without a hazardous waste ID number. Go to the DTSC web site http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/IDManifest/PERMHWID.cfm for the form to reactivate the ID number . Immediately reactivate your hazardous waste ID number and submit evidence to the EHD. This is a repeat violation, Class II. 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. An open black plastic container of used absorbent was observed under the sink in the back room. No steps have been taken to prevent the gasoline vapors from escaping into the air. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately close this container and take all necessary precautions to ensure gasoline is not released into the environment. This is a Class II violation. 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous waste. An open black plastic container of used absorbent was observed under the sink in the back room. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close this container or place the waste in a properly closed container, and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. This is a repeat violation, Class II. 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. An black plastic container of used absorbent was observed under the sink in the back room with no label. According to disposal records, absorbent was last disposed of on 7/28/16. Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Since it cannot be determined how long the hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest. Submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD within 30 days. This is a repeat violation, Class II.
