All <br /> hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. During the <br /> inspection, the mechanic transferred the oil from the catch pan into the drum of used oil. Ensure all hazardous waste <br /> containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> Outside west of the maintenance shop are two white 55 gallon drums and two 250 gallon totes that used to contain <br /> fertilizer. The date that these containers became empty has not been marked. Containers larger than five gallons that <br /> previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were emptied and managed within one year of <br /> being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this section. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> In the hazardous waste storage area are two 55 gallon drums partially full of used oil. These containers were not <br /> marked with the company name and address, the words"Hazardous Waste", the hazardous property, the physical <br /> state, and the accumulation start date. Jim Husting stated that the used oil was just picked up on 6-23-16 and had a <br /> copy of the consolidated manifest to verify that 160 gallons of used oil was picked up. An empty, unlabeled, and open <br /> catch pan about 1/4 full of used oil was left on top of the drums for used oil. All hazardous waste containers shall be <br /> marked with the following information: <br /> -the words"Hazardous Waste" <br /> - name and address of generator <br /> - hazardous properties <br /> - physical state <br /> -composition (contents) <br /> -accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required <br /> information.
