HAZARD COMMUNICATION WRITTEN PROGRAM <br /> And <br /> RESPONSE PLAN <br /> I. GENERAL <br /> The purpose of this program is to ensure that (Store name) is in <br /> compliance with the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) of OSHA 29 CFR <br /> 1910.1200. <br /> The Store Manager is the overall coordinator of the <br /> program and has overall responsibility. <br /> In general, each employee in the Jackpot Food Mart Co. store will be appraised of the list of <br /> hazardous chemicals known to be present in the store, labels and other forms of warning, <br /> Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS, employee information and training procedures, and how to <br /> inform employees of other employers at the store. <br /> II. LIST OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS/CHEMICALS <br /> The Store Manager will maintain an inventory of all hazardous materials and/or chemicals used <br /> in the facility, and update the list as necessary. The hazardous chemical list will be updated upon <br /> receipt of hazardous chemicals at the facility. The list of hazardous chemicals is maintained at <br /> III. MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS (MSDSs) <br /> The Store Manager will maintain an MSDS library on every substance of the list of hazardous <br /> chemicals at (Store name). The MSDS will consist of a fully <br /> completed OSHA Forth 174 or equivalent. The Store Manager will ensure that this store <br /> maintains an MSDS for hazardous Materials used at this location. MSDS will be readily <br /> available to all employees. <br /> The Store Manager is responsible for acquiring and updating MSDSs. The Store Manager will <br /> review each MSDS for accuracy and completeness and will consult with the marketing <br /> consultant is additional research is necessary. All new procurements for the facility must be <br /> cleared by the Store Manager. Whenever possible, the least hazardous substance will be <br /> procured. <br /> MSDSs that meet the requirements of HCS must be fully completed and received at the facility <br /> either prior to, or at the time of receipt of the first shipment of any potentially hazardous <br /> chemical purchased for a vendor.
