Ian 11 07 11 : 18a F *mac maint dept 20" 4613240 p. 6 <br /> ST, JOSEPH'S MEDICAL CENTER <br /> MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT <br /> MONITORING PROCEDURE <br /> DIESEL FUEL TANK <br /> The monitoring system for leak detection on the 20,000 gallon diesel tank is an Owns- <br /> Corning Model SBOOI 1B, with a tank sensor and a piping sensor. <br /> The monitoring system continuously monitors the tank and piping. The tank is double <br /> walled and the space between the tanks is filled with antifreeze mixture. Lost or gain in <br /> the antifreeze level will sound a local alarm. The underground portion of the piping <br /> system is double walled with reservoir sensors along the pipe route with a monitor in the <br /> Maintenance building with at local alarm. if a leak is detected either in the tank or <br /> underground piping the local alarm will sound. <br /> The alarm monitor is checked at least once each shift and it's condition is logged in the <br /> Engineer's log book. If there is an alarm sounding, the maintenance engineer will notify <br /> the Chief Engineer. <br /> The monitoring system will be tested annually by a third party tester and the results <br /> forwarded to the County Health Services Environmental Health Division. <br />
