Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: Amendment to the Tank Closure Permit Application # 39-
1036-02 , for St. Joseph's Medical Center, 1800 California
St. , Stockton, Ca
Dear Ms. Resch;
This application amends closure permit #39-1036-02 for the above
referenced site.
Upon removal of the tank several problems were encountered which
prevented completion of soil sampling as outlined in the original
tank closure permit application. First, an cement slab was
discovered beneath the tank and second, the tank pit was filled
with pea gravel. Both of these situations prevented the collection
of soil samples from beneath the tank utilizing a backhoe bucket,
as originally planned.
To complete the tank closure, RESNA Industries amends the original
sampling plan, as outlined in San Joaquin County Tank Removal
Guidelines, as follows:
• Drill, utilizing a State licensed C-57 drill rig, one soil
boring through the center of the cement slab, and drill four
soil borings around the perimeter of the cement slab,
collecting samples for laboratory analysis with a modified
California split-spoon sampler.
