e <br /> 14.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br /> A. WARNING SYSTEMS: <br /> The warning system utilized will depend on the work conditions and the emergency <br /> involved. <br /> 1. Verbal communications <br /> 2. Vehicle horns <br /> 3. Portable hand-held compressed gas horns <br /> Homs should be used to alert QII personnel of an emergency. One long blast shall be <br /> used to signify immediate evacuation to a predetermined upwind location where a <br /> headcount shall be taken. Repeated short blasts shall be used to signify immediate <br /> evacuation to the exclusion zone border where a headcount shall be taken and <br /> further instructions are given. <br /> B. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT: <br /> This equipment shall be made available at the work site at all times. <br /> 1. Fire extinguishers-(dry chemical/abc) <br /> 2. First aid kits <br /> 3. CGA and oxygen meters <br /> 4. Indicator tubes-(Draegar) <br /> C. GENERAL EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: <br /> 1. In case of on emergency or hazardous situation,the worker that observes this <br /> condition must immediately sound the alarm. <br /> 2. Upon hearing the alarm,all non-emergency communications will cease and the <br /> observer shall proceed to give all pertinent information to the site safety officer. <br /> 3. Actions to be taken will be dictated by the emergency condition. <br /> 4. All power equipment shall be shut down. <br /> 5. Injured personnel will be transported to the contamination reduction line. <br /> 6. The Safety Engineer shall be immediately notified. <br /> 7. Personnel shall stay at the safe locations until the area is secured. <br />
