GE..TECNNICAL
CONSULTANTS, INC.
File No. 1817
8 April 1988 L j
APR
Mr. Ron Valinoti UNt!, IAL NEALM
San Joaquin Local Health Department ///J/A(6ERM11/SERVICLS
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Mr. Valinoti:
This letter is to transmit recommended leak detection plans for
state owned underground storage tanks in your county, and to
request your review and approval of the same.
Our firm has been retained by the Office of the State Architect
(OSA) to prepare underground storage tank leak detection plans
for state-owned facilitieq, in central California. These plans,
once approved by respective county agencies, will be used to
implement leak detection programs and obtain operating permits
for these. As part of this process, OSA required that we contact
each facility manager and visit each underground storage tank
location. The information compiled was used to determine the
acceptable Monitoring Alternatives for the tanks at each
facility, as set forth in the California Underground Storage Tank
Regulations, California Administrative Code, Title 23 Waters,
Chapter 3 Water Resources Control Board, Subchapter 16.
We have recommended the Monitoring Alternatives we feel would be
most suitable for the tanks at each facility. We would
appreciate your review of the attached plans, and if you concur,
your approval of our preferred Monitoring Alternative. Please
indicate your approval of our preferred Monitoring Alternative on
the enclosed sign-off sheet. In some instances facility
personnel indicated that a permit had already been obtained or
applied for. In these cases we were, however, unable to obtain
a copy of the current permit at the time of our site visit. We
would appreciate your verification that a current permit has been
issued on those tanks.
For final permitting, OSA may choose to use any acceptable
Monitoring Alternative other than the preferred alternative
recommended by us. Therefore, your comments as to the
applicability of each alternative is requested.
(916) 969-8883
631 Commerce Drlvc, Roscvlllc, CA 95678 (916) 786-8883
