B. MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE OF MONITORING EQUIPMENT <br /> The continuous electronic leak detection system including line leak detectors will be inspected <br /> according to the manufacturer's instructions by an outside contractor once during each calendar year. <br /> C. ROUTINE VISUAL INSPECTION MONITORING PROCEDURE <br /> On a daily basis, the facility manager shall: <br /> 1. Inspect the monitoring control panel for visual and audible alarm signals to confirm that the unit <br /> is operating properly. <br /> 2. Inspect emergency response equipment for any deficiencies. <br /> 3. Inspect dispensers, hoses, and nozzles for any deficiencies. <br /> 4. Inspect island and tank fill areas for signs of spillage of petroleum sheen. <br /> 5. Record the inspection observations on the Daily Visual Monitoring Log (Form APCC-765 - <br /> Gasoline Handling, attached). <br /> D. RESPONSE PROCEDURES <br /> LEAK DETECTION AND REPORTING PROCEDURE <br /> Whenever an alarm is activated, station management personnel are to immediately: <br /> a. Notify police/fire of any fire explosion or spill. <br /> b. Notify San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division of any spill. <br /> c. Provide all information as requested <br /> d. Contact Safeway Inc. home office for direction. <br /> e. In the event of any spill or release of hazardous substance, the person or persons designated as <br /> the responsible party(ies) shall direct all activities and coordinate with emergency response <br /> teams. <br /> f. Employees and customers should be evacuated from the facility as necessary for their safety, <br /> according to a predetermined evacuation plan. <br /> g. The source of the leak should immediately be stopped,all free liquids should be contained,drains <br /> in the immediate area should be sealed off, and measures should be taken to prevent overland <br /> flow. <br /> 7996.001 [SHK/bq] <br />
