Air Handlers
Each component of the air handling system is to be inspected and tested.
The unit should be started and stopped.
If there are isolation dampers then the damper's operation is to be verified.
Each temperature and humidity sensor is to be checked and follow the same
calibration/replacement criteria as the space temperatures and humidity.
Each valve on the unit is to be cycled and verified. Mechanical cooling is to be cycled as
well as mixed air dampers.
Rooftop Unit Sy stems
Same as air handlers.
CRU Systems
Same as air handlers.
Under Floor Water Alarms
These alarms are generally associated with a CRU but not always.
Each water detector is to be tested by introducing water to the sensor and verifying
operation.
Shorting out alarm wires will not be acceptable.
Permalert
In some facilities there is a more sophisticated system of water monitoring.
Some are Liebert and some are Permalert utilizing tape with sensors strategically located
within so many feet of each other
These are to be tested in the same manor as under floor water detectors.
Chillers
Each component of the chiller is to be tested as best as can be reasonably expected.
4
