Weber Avenue. 3rd Floor
Stockton, CA. 95202
Ph# 209-468-3420
Fax#209-468-3433
Dear Mr. Jackson,
As you are aware, we discovered failures on the Generator Supply and Return Secondary
Piping runs between the U.S.T. and steel pipe transition while performing the SB-989,
secondary containment test on 12-02-2003. We suspect the failures to be; (1)
Underground Generator supply, secondary pipe failure, (2) Aboveground Generator
return, secondary pipe failure.
We would like to propose the following:
1. Notify San Joaquin County Environmental Health Dept. at least 48 hrs. before
commencing work.
2. Provide a Helium test (a non regulated test) on suspected leaking secondary
pipe to assist with the isolation of fracture.
3. Isolate leaks by utilizing a helium detector during pressurized helium test.
4. Saw cut (under sidewalk area)if required!
5. Expose damaged "Ameron" underground secondary piping.
6. Notify San Joaquin Environmental Health Dept. to observe fracture before SAY u
_m©yigg forward with repairs
7. Make necessary repairs as per Manufactures recommendations.
8. Repair the aboveground failure on the return secondary piping as per
manufactures recommendations.
- 9. Re-Test both Supply and Return secondary piping runs with 3 - 5 psi.. of
_ nitrogen and hold for 15 min. after. ompleting repairs.
