SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
MOSQUITO & VECTOR CONTROL
DISTRICT
January 4, 1999
Mr. Doug Wilson, Supervising REHS
Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin Public Health Services
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Dear Mr. Wilson:
I am in receipt of your letter of November 9, 1998 regarding our agency's UST
status concerning compliance with AB 14911 (copy enclosed). Although our
equipment was thought to be up-to-date and in compliance with applicable laws, we
understand that certain additional safeguards are still required. Please find enclosed a
copy of a proposal for tank compliance upgrades from our UST service provider. The
District's Board of Trustees will consider this proposal on January 19, 1999, and if
approved, it is hoped that work will be able to start soon after.
In the mean time, it is requested that our agency be allowed to continue to use the
existing UST and dispenser. Our fuel pumping use at this time of year is low, but due
to our public service requirements, we are still required to operate vector control
vehicles and equipment.
Do not hesitate to contact me at (209) 982-4675 or 1-800-300-4675 if you have any
questions or need additional information.
Sincerely,
John R.
