Appendix A <br /> Proposition 65 Warning and Notification <br /> As required under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (also known as <br /> Proposition 65), on February 27, 1987, the Governor published a listing of those chemicals <br /> determined by the State of California to cause cancer,birth defects, or other reproductive harm. <br /> Proposition 65 requires that businesses that handle any of the listed chemicals notify people in <br /> the affected area of that fact. Shaw anticipates handling some of the listed chemicals at the <br /> project sites. <br /> The chemicals present on site that have been determined to cause cancer include: <br /> • Diesel Engine Exhaust <br /> • Gasoline (whole vaporized) <br /> • Benzene <br /> The following contaminants on site have been determined by the State to cause reproductive <br /> harm: <br /> • Benzene <br /> • Toluene <br /> • Lead <br /> c CDJSWEWsno+-oa da B-1 <br />
