Orient chip so that the small indented semicircle on the top of the chip is on the same end as the small notch painted on the board above the socket (in this example on the top) . Carefully align the chip pins over the socket holes and gently push the chip dawn until all the pins are in the socket holes. Then push down firmly and evenly on the chip until it is down against the socket. Check to see that each of the pins is in its socket. Figure 5.
