Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Stockton
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has completed the review of
the application for a permit to convert the diesel tank to 87 octane (including reprogramming the
monitoring panel and replacing the probe float), replace the failed diesel spill container, and
replace the plumbing, above the shear valve, under the current diesel dispensers on the
underground storage tank(UST) system at the above noted address. The permit has been
approved with the following conditions:
Contact the local fire
any applicable tsar the
Joaq .in Valley Air Pollution Control
1 District for
2. Any changes in information and scope of work must be submitted to EHD for approval
prior to commencing work. All new addenda supersede the previous ones.
3. Contact Stacy Rivera at (209) 468-3440 to arrange the following inspection
appointments (a 48-hour notice is required for inspection appointments). Please be
aware that inspections for emergency work must be scheduled within five days of permit
approval.
a. Corrosion protection: Verify corrosion protection for direct bury spill bucket prior to
backfilling.
b. Spill bucket test: Verify minimum 5-gallon capacity and pass a one hour hydrostatic
test (or equivalent). Proper drainage must also be verified.
c. Visual inspection of the piping under dispensers 1/2 and 7/8.
d. Secondary containment testing on converted tank (diesel/87) -
Please be aware that the facility cannot operate the UST system or receive fuel in
the converted tank(diesel/87) prior to the EHD inspection and approval.
4; Since concrete will be broken near the converted (diesel/87) UST; a secondary
containment test must be performed on the converted tank once concrete is poured, in
accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.
