We will take the following action:
1. Early next week, I will send you a response dealing with the permit deficiencies, also detailing the timeframe for repairs.
2. Repairs will be conducted as soon as possible, and I will make the contractor aware of the need for a permit to install
the interstitial sensor(the mechanical line leak detector was already replaced in December on the day of your visit).
3. 1 will check with Ryder's engineer who is assessing the issue with the secondary piping's integrity and will provide you
with a status.
In the interim, please call me if you have any question and thank you for assisting us.
Bern Steiner
Tanknology-NDE
Program Mgr. - Ryder
305-500-4134 (office)
305-500-3018 (fax)
bsteiner@tanknology.com
-----Original Message-----
From: Steve Sasson [<mailto:ssasson(phs.hs.co.san-joaquin.ca.us>l
Sent: Friday, January 12, 2001 1:29 PM
To: 'bsteiner@tanknology.com'
Subject: Ryder Truck 3633 Duck Creek Drive, Stockton CA
Hello Ben,
I am sending this email in response to your telephone call requesting an
extension on the compliance date in the report of 12121100. California law
requires that UST's be continously monitored with on site alarms and that
financial responsibility is filed annually. I can grant you an extension on
the compliance date for repairs required in the inspection report to
February 1, 2001 but that will not grant Ryder Truck an exemption from state
law. In addition permits are required for the annular space monitor on the
waste oil tank and the line leak detector replacements. A compliance
inspection will be required for all repairs and a complete station
certification will be conducted on that date as well. Ryder truck as the
business owner is responsible for all monitoring and compliance with state
law.
Thank You
Steve Sasson, REHS
1
