0
Raymond von Flue [EH]
From: ateam [ateam@flash.net]
Sent: Friday, October 31, 2008 2:30 PM
To: Raymond von Flue [EH]
Cc: Mary Lynn Douglas; Tom Perault; BPC1LP@aol.com
Subject: Ryder Stickton Scope
Dear Mr. vonFlue,
I understand your frustration regarding the motor ail interstice investigation at Stockton. However,
during the last 10 months that have expired since the identification of a possible problem with the motor
oil tank dry interstice has not been due to inaction on Ryder's part. To date, we have spent over $40,000
in this investigation that consists of services provided by Tanknology, Bonsall Petroleum, Stockton
Service Station and CRGS. To perform Enhanced Leak Detection with CRGS cost Ryder over
516,000. We have diligently investigated and tested this system and of course we are frustrated as well.
When Mary Lynn requests capitol expenditures from Ryder corporate, there is considerable procedures
that must be performed in order to secure these funds; procurement and contracting of vendors and
arranging a schedule for very busy contractors unfortunately takes time.
We will meet your dictated time lines as best we can. In discussing your additional fees to perform
inspections with my client, we are perplexed that your agency continues to insist on billing your time
but Ryder will oblige your agency as required. If and when you invoice Ryder, prior to invoicing your
agency will be required to submit the necessary paperwork and documents per Ryder's billing protocol
before processing your invoices.
I will make arrangements with Bonsall and have them notify you of the 989 testing schedule. The
following secondary components will be tested:
. Used oil sump repaired by Stockton Service Station Equipment
. Motor oil interstice
. Ancillary secondary piping run from the shop to the service island
. Other secondary components as you require.
Thank you for your continued assistance - Tony Herald
Assistant to Mary Lynn Douglas
Group Manager, Engineering & Environmental Services
Ryder Systems, Inc.
A -Team Consulting, Inc.
94 Angeles Vista Circle
Sandia Park, NM 87047
505-286-0911
Fax 286-0990
Mobile 720-0711
The information contained in this electronic communication and any
10/31/2008
