EI Dorado, Stockton, Ca. <br /> As per your request a plan review was made and this review revealed that your <br /> plans would not meet the minimum requirements for the 1998 upgrades in <br /> addition to existing plan submittals, would be required to include but not be <br /> limited to the following: <br /> 1. All information on the tanks is incomplete and must be provided in order to <br /> determine what will be needed in order to upgrade this tank system. Plans <br /> indicate that the tank is fiberglass and the "A" forms indicate that the tanks <br /> are steel clad. Please identify the actual tank types which you intend to <br /> upgrade. Note that a special inspector will be required to provide a <br /> determination on either type of tank, for catholic protection and for the <br /> structural soundness of the tanks. The EHD representative must be onsite <br /> and observe all inspections of the tank system made by a special inspector. <br /> Specific requirements of the inspection will be outlined by the EHD depending <br /> on the type and age of the tank to be upgraded. (CCR title 23 section 2660 <br /> (k)) <br /> 2. Tanks that are single wall fiberglass or steel clad must have a site <br /> assessment prior to approval of the plan for upgrading. (CCR title 23 section <br /> 2660 (1)) Assessments are made after application to the EHD Site Mitigation <br /> Unit. You may contact Margaret Lagorio, Supervising RENS at 209-468- <br /> 3449 for further information on applications for site assessments. <br /> 3. If the site is found to be contaminated, no further action will be permitted until <br /> a cleanup plan is approved. If tanks are approved to be left in place on a <br /> contaminated site by the EHD, a monitoring system must be installed which <br /> meets the requirements of the Health and Safety Code section 25296 (c) <br /> 4. Single wall pressurized lines cannot be left in place unless they were put in <br /> under a permit from the EHD. If these lines were not installed under permit <br /> and inspection, then the lines must be verified to have been properly <br /> installed by uncovering and inspection of the lines by a special inspector and <br /> this inspection observed by the EHD staff.
