El Dorado Street, Stockton
Ken Willis property
a) Closure in place is more suitable to this project because of the close proximity of the tank to the
property line. The procedure is also less disruptive to the existing business and the community
through which the tank would have to be hauled.
b) This tank has been empty for a number of years. Its previous use was for storage of diesel fuel. The
tank capacity is 10,000 gallons. The tank is located in the northwesterly comer of the property.
About 20-40 feet of piping exists towards the east along the north property line. Please see drawings
attached. This writer knows of no unauthorized releases nor of any failed precision tests.
c) Cross sectional drawing is attached and made a part of this work plan.
d) The soil samples are intended to be taken near each end of the tank, subject however,to the discretion
of your on site inspector.
e) Cored samples shall be appropriately sealed and placed in an ice chest. A water sample will be
collected if indicated.
f) Limits of detection shall be as applicable by law and shall be not unlike those that SJCEHD has most
often requested at closure sites.
g) An EPA number will be obtained due to the possibility of hazardous waste being generated by the
decontamination of the tank and piping..
h) The rinsate from the decontamination will be hauled by the same contractor doing decontamination.
A proper manifest will be provided by same.
i) Borings shall be sealed with concrete or other methods approved by SJCEHD.
Ivan Vegvary
Civil Engineer 18546
Land Surveyor 3446
