8.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) <br /> PPE is assigned per task as follows: <br /> Site mobilization and demobilization (Level D): <br /> Hard hat <br /> Eye protection <br /> Gloves (leather or chemical) <br /> Boots (steel toe & shank work) <br /> coveralls or work uniforms <br /> Tank hierting, Triple Rinsing, Loading and Disposal <br /> All of the above (Level D) <br /> Gloves, chemical if soil is visibly contaminated <br /> Boots, steel toes & shanks, chemical type if soil is visibly contaminated <br /> Tyvek coveralls <br /> Ultra twin full face respirator with GMC-H cartridges <br /> All PPE levels can be upgraded or downgraded at the Project Manager's discretion. <br /> 8.1 Respiratory Protection <br /> All personnel required to use respirators will select and use the respirators based upon guidelines <br /> established by OSHA and NIOSH. All DES employees are individually fit tested and issued their <br /> own respirators with the following provisions. <br /> o MSA ultra-light pressure demand or combination SCBA/air-line. <br /> o AO respirators equipped with the cartridge type dictated by monitoring results. <br /> o All individuals required to wear respirators will have received a documented pre-issue <br /> qualitative fit test for the specific type of respirator in use. This fit test will be given by <br /> 8 <br />
