SECTION 9.0 STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES <br /> 9.1 LABELING <br /> Legible and understandable precautionary labels shall be prominently affixed to containers of raw materials and products. <br /> Labeling of harmful or hazardous materials or wastes which are to be stored or used in site operations is essential. The <br /> labels will meet the following requirements at a minimum: <br /> They must be in English, not easily removed or if removed, replaced immediately, they must list <br /> chemical components, they must include the chemical or common name of the material, and they shall <br /> contain a statement which calls attention to the particular type of hazard with precautions to be taken <br /> when using the chemical. Labeling is to be brief and informative and can be accomplished using <br /> stencils, tape, signs, or placards. <br /> SECTION 10.0 CONTINGENCY PLAN <br /> 10.1 SITE EMERGENCY WARNING SYSTEM <br /> Several warning systems may be utilized depending on the work site conditions or emergency involved: <br /> Verbal communications <br /> Vehicle horns <br /> Compressed air horns <br /> Portable telephones <br /> Radios <br /> Verbal instructions with or without assistance are used to deal with specific incidents. <br /> 10.2 EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT <br /> The following equipment comprises the basic emergency equipment list, of which all or some shall be available at the <br /> work site: <br /> • Fire extinguishers- dry chemical 20 BC or greater <br /> • Appropriate spill cleanup supplies and equipment <br /> 10.3 GENERAL EMERGENCY PROCEDURES <br /> In case of an emergency or hazardous situation, the team member that observes this condition shall immediately sound <br /> the alarm. <br />
