James Giottonini Page 2 �k Argonne and Picardy * The City of Stockton has issued a purchase order.for the proposed over-excavation of the former tank pit. The workplan proposes an additional 5' of soil to be removed and at least four sidewall samples and one bottom soil sample to be collected to confirm hydrocarbon removal. The work had been postponed due to the bad weather. The City of Stockton will schedule the work this week and will provide PHS/EHD notification on the date for the over-excavation. I * The work will be completed and the documentation of the work (to include the laboratory results, chain of custody, and the soil disposal records) will be submitted to PHS/EHD for evaluation within 30 days after the completion odthe wprk. * Should the limited excavation attempt fail to remove the remaining hydrocarbons, any additional work at this site should be conducted under the guidance of a qualified professional. j i 1740 Houston Avenue * Three monitoring wells were installed last week at this site as per the workplan. Water sampling from the wells is scheduled for the third wee0of June. A report of findings should be submitted within 60 days after the completion of the work. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 1994 at 1:30 p.m. and will be held at the PHS/EHD office.
