wXwLiTI[AL(AyOAAtORi
Sparger Hazardous Waste T&%,itSample AC27217, AC27218 Novernb,,,993 Page ♦ 3
A review of temperature data shows that the temperature did not remain within the acceptable
range of 20 :t2oC on day 3 of the test, when temperatures ranged between 17.1`C and 18.4` in
Il%W the two tests. The recording chart for the test room indicates that the temperature dropped to
approximately 18°C for several hours between 9 AM and 1230 PM on November 7, and dropped
again during the morning hours of November 8, 1993. The temperature remained within
acceptable limits during the rest of the 96 hour test exposure period. The temperature drop
probably had no effect on the outcome of the test, because it was within one degree of the
acceptable limits and occurred for a relatively short period of time during the test.
RESULTS
A review of survival data shows that there was 100% survival in the lab control at the end of the
test. This result met the test acceptability criterion of at least 90% survival during the 96 hour
exposure period. Representative control fish had a mean standard length of 11.5 mm (range
11.0 to 12.2 mm) and a mean wet weight of 0.0153 grams (range 0.0125 to 0.0180 grams).
Test results for sample AC27217 are summarized in Table 2.
A review of the survival data for Sample AC27217 shows that there was 100°% survival in the 750
mg/I, 500 mg/l, and 250 mg/I test treatments at the 96 hour exposure period. The results of this
screening assay indicate that the LC50 is greater than 750 mg/I, and that the sample should be
classified as not hazardous under the CCR Title 26 Section 22 criteria.
Test results for sample AC27218 are summarized in Table 3.
A review of the survival data for Sample AC27218 shows that there was 100% survival in the 750
mg/I and 500 mg/I treatments and 95% survival in the 250 mg/I test treatment at the 96 hour
exposure period. The results of this screening assay indicate that the LC50 is greater than 750
mg/I, and that the sample should be classified as not hazardous under the CCR Title 26 Section
22 criteria.
REFERENCES
EPA, 1990.
