Page 4
Stockpile samples SP-la-b through SP-6a-b each represent
approximately 50 cubic yards . Two samples were collected
for every 50 cubic yards . Two samples were then composited
in the laboratory and analyzed as one sample representing
approximately 50 cubic yards .
Stockpile soil samples were collected by removing the top 12
to 16 inches of soil, pushing a clean 6" long (2" diameter)
brass tube into the stockpile until completely filled, then
removed, sealed and handled as described previously.
ANALYTICAL RESULTS
Summaries of the soil analytical results are presented in
Tables A and B. The fuel UST excavation and trench samples
were analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
calculated as gasoline (TPH-Gasoline) according to EPA
Method 8015 (Modified) , Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and
Xylenes (BTEX) according to EPA Method 8020 and Total Lead
according to EPA Method 7420 . Additional analyses for the
samples from the waste oil tank and sump excavations and
associated stockpiles consisted of Total Oil and Grease
(TOG) according to EPA Method 5520F, ICAP Metals, CAM 17
Metals, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs ) according to EPA
Method 8010 and Priority Organic Pollutants according to EPA
Method 8270 . Samples collected from the hoists and were
analyzed for TOG.
Copies of the Certified Analytical Reports (CARs) from the
Laboratory and Chain-of-Custody forms are attached in
Appendix A.
STOCKPILE DISPOSITION
The soil stockpile generated from the waste oil tank and
sump removal will be profiled for disposal at Browning-
Ferris Industries (BFI ) located in Livermore, California.
The soil stockpile generated from the fuel UST and piping
removal will be aerated and resampled for reuse as on site
backfill material.
