If water is <br /> present in the hole , one soil sample will be taken from wall <br /> next to each tank end at solid ground water interface plus <br /> one water sample from each hole . <br /> 9 . Tanks will be cleaned prior to removal via triple rinsing <br /> with water . The rinsate and sludge will be pumped out after <br /> each rinse . The tanks will be purged of flammable vapors prior to removal <br /> via insertion of dry ice (CO2) in amounts sufficient to <br /> either bring 02 (oxygen) level in tank down below 14 . 3% or <br /> the LEL to below 20% . A minimum of 15 lbs . of dry ice per <br /> 1000 gallons of tank capacity shall be used . <br /> 12 .
