19 April 1999 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 98-0472 <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> EPA Method 8260; and <br /> • Total lead in accordance with EPA Method 6010. <br /> The laboratory report (AAL Batch No. 98-1217-016, KIFF Analytical Report No. 12944 and <br /> Precision Enviro-Tech Sample I.D.PE4068)and chains-of-custody forms are presented in Appendix <br /> F. <br /> 2.3. BACKFILLING OF EXCAVATION <br /> On 16 December 1998 and 02 February 1999, the UST cavity was partially backfilled utilizing <br /> approximately 175 tons of 5/16-inch pea gravel. Delivery receipts for pea gravel to the site are <br /> included as Appendix G. <br /> On 02 and 03 February-1999, soil stockpiled on the south portion of the site was re-utilized to <br /> completely backfill the former UST cavity. Backfill material achieved approximately 90 percent <br /> compaction utilizing a compaction wheel. <br /> 2.4. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK DISPOSITION TRACKING RECORD <br /> In accordance with PHS-EHD guidelines,the UST Disposition Tracking Record is included with <br /> Appendix H. <br /> 3.0. RESULTS OF LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> A total of fifteen soil samples were submitted to a state-certified laboratory for analysis of TPH-g, <br /> BTEX,fuel oxygenates and total lead. Utilizing EPA Method 8015M, TPH-g was detected in soil <br /> samples collected beneath the eastem-most tank(UST No. 2)from the south-end at a concentration <br /> of 7,200 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg); TPH-g was detected in stockpiled soil at concentrations <br /> ranging as high as 230 mg/kg; TPH-g was detected beneath dispensers and product piping at <br /> concentrations ranging as high as 100 mg/kg. <br /> Utilizing EPA Method 8020,BTEX constituents were detected in soil samples collected beneath the <br /> south-end of UST No.2,from dispensers 3,4,5,6 and from stockpiled soil at concentrations ranging <br /> as high as 520 mg/kg. <br /> Utilizing EPA method 8260, fuel oxygenates were detected from the south-end of UST No. 2, from <br /> Advanced GwEuvironmental,Inc. <br />
