r
Upon arrival to the laboratory, the samples' condition was checked and any nonconformaties
were noted Copies of signed laboratory reports are included as Appendix C of this report
2.3 Existing Well Sampling
The existing water well was sampled in conjunction with the dulling and soil sampling efforts
at the site to assess groundwater quality The well was checked for the presence of free
' product utilizing an interface probe No free product layer was encountered.
Groundwater was sampled using the dedicated pump installed within the well. The water
sample was placed in appropriate containers supplied by the laboratory. Care was taken that
' no headspace is present in sample bottles which were analyzed for volatile organic
compounds. Once the sample was collected, the bottles was placed in "ziploc" bags and
sealed with security tape. The sample was stored in an ice chest with water ice until delivery
to the on-site mobile laboratory
The water samples were analyzed by a California state certified mobile analytical laboratory.
The sample was analyzed utilizing the methods and detection limits shown below
ANALYSIS NAME SAMPLE METHOD DETECTION LIMIT
CONTAINER (ppb)
' BTEX Three 40ml EPA 03
(benzene, volatile organic MODIFIED 0.3
toluene, vials with HCl 8020 0.3
ethyl benzene, 05
total xylenes)
' TPH as diesel Two one liter DHS GC-FID
amber bottles MODIFIED 50
with HCl (8015)
NOTE TPH — Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
r
The sample was hand delivered to the onsite laboratory in a chilled ice chest with appropriate
chain of custody forms Upon arrival to the laboratory the samples' condition was checked
and any nonconformatxes were noted on the chain of custody forms (Appendix B) Copies of
signed laboratory reports are included as Appendix C of this report.
MZJ12-08-931ENG193-1065 nbr
4
