Naiome King Trust, King Island <br />Health and Safety Plan <br />WES Project No. 4131 -P <br />December 1995 <br />Non-visible effects which must be reported include: <br />Headache, dizziness, nausea, cramps and blurred vision; <br />Irritation of the eyes, skin or respiratory tract; <br />Fatigue or weakness; <br />Tightening of the chest. <br />Diarrhea, coughing or sweating; <br />Hot or cold flashes or skin; <br />Breathing difficulties. <br />SECTION 9.0 SANITATION <br />9.1 DRINKING WATER <br />Page 8 <br />An adequate supply of potable water is provided on the site. Any container used to distribute <br />drinking water shall be clearly marked as to the nature of its contents and not used for any other <br />purpose. <br />9.2 TOILET FACILITIES <br />Toilets are provided for employees according to 29 CFR 1910 Table H-120.2. <br />Toilet facilities are located on site. <br />SECTION 10.0 STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES <br />10.1 SAMPLING SAFETY MEASURES <br />1. Excavation safety measures should be followed closely. <br />2. Hand augers and power tools should be used in accordance with the <br />operation safety measures. <br />3. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be used at all times. <br />4. Care must be taken to minimize exposure to decontamination solvents and <br />other reagents used for sample preparation or preservation. <br />5. Protective eyewear must be used when driving sampling tools or when <br />excavating soils using hand tools. <br />
