HAZARD EVALUATION
The following substance(s) or hazards are known or suspected to be on site.
SUBSTANCES INVOLVED: CONCENTRATIONS:
Gasoline Unknown
BTEX Unknown
1,2-DCA Unknown
,Methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) Unknown
The primary hazards of each are identified as follows:
1. Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic
petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water.
Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye,
nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system.
Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness,
dizziness, and loss ofcoordination.Certain components of gasoline(i.e.benzene and MTBE)
are known or suspected carcinogens.
The additional potential hazards include: Slip-trip-fall hazards noise heavy equipment (i a drill
rig), vibration hazards, traffic hazards, etc.
Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc.
