Hammer Lane
Stockton, California
Delta Project No. D000-337
Dear Ms. Sterni-le:
Delta Environmental Consultants, hic. (Delta) was contracted by Atlantic Richfield
Company (ARCO) to perform soil sampling beneath former fuel dispensers, associated
product piping, and underground storage tanks (USTs) as a part of the partial demolition
of ARCO Facility No. 5569 (the site). The site is located at 3518 E. Hammer Lane,
Stockton, California. The purpose of the soil sampling was to fulfill requirements of the
San Joaquin County Public Health Services (PHS). This report presents the results of the
soil sampling activities.
Soil Sampling
On October 25, 2001, a Delta representative, working under the direction of a California
state registered geologist, visited the site to collect soil samples from locations beneath
the former gasoline dispensers and associated product piping. Delta collected soil
samples under the direction of Environmental Health Specialist Kasey Foley. Four soil
samples (D-1 through D-4) were collected from beneath the dispensers and six soil
samples (P-1 through P-6) were collected from beneath product piping (Figure 1). The
samples were collected at depths ranging from 3 to 7.5 feet below ground surface (bgs).
Sampling locations were exposed using a backhoe. Samples were collected by driving a
brass sleeve into the native soil.
Providing a Competitive Edge
