To install this type of boot, it is necessary to
first drill a series of smaller stud holes around the opening using a templet
and then the boot opening using the appropriate size hole saw. Detailed
installation instructions are packaged with the boots.
Entry Boot Flexibility
All entry boots are designed to provide universal
flexibility for the pipe or conduit providing up and
down, side to side, back to front movement as
well as angled pipe entries. This flexibility is
important for aligning pipe connections or as a
stress relief for the pipe during backfilling and
ground movement.
Expansion Ring Flexible Entry Boots
This style of Flexible Entry Boot mounts to a sump wall by means of a nylon
expansion ring and to the pipe or conduit using a band clamp. To install this
type of boot it is only necessary to drill the boot opening using the
appropriate size hole saw. The smaller stud holes are not required. This
boot uses an internal expansion ring to create the pressure seal. Detailed
installation instructions are packaged with the boots. Available soon.
Angled Entries
Flexible Entry Boots are designed to permit up to
a 30' angle of flexibility for pipe and conduit
entries. Angles greater than 30' could prevent
the boot from sealing around the pipe or conduit.
If angled entries are required, make sure the
boot opening in the wall has a sanded edge so
as not to damage the entry boot.
Round Surface Installations
Flexible Entry Boots may be installed on round
surfaces which have a radius diameter greater
than 30' (750mm). The installation procedures
are the same as described above except that the
bolt holes should be made slightly larger after
initial drilling. Only 'Studded Ring" entry boots
should be used on round surfaces.
