ROUTINE: MONITORING PROCEDURE <br /> F013 <br /> CHEROKEE MEMORIAL PARK <br /> 1:.3721. N. BECKMAN RD. HWY 99 & HARNEY LN. <br /> LODI, CA. 9524Cr <br /> 1. The tank monitoring systems are in service on a 24 hour a <br /> day basis. A panel of alarm lights is :installed on the <br /> wall inside the shop building. Green lights are visible <br /> as long as . no foriegn material has entered the monitored <br /> areas. Each area being monitored has an electronic sensor. <br /> Should the sen=ior detect petroleum hydrocarbon vapor or <br /> liquid, a red light appears, the green light gees out and <br /> an audible alarm begins to sound. The monitoring panel is <br /> observed on several occasions daily by the grounds <br /> perso el.. The foreman of the day is required to visually <br /> check the panel each day. <br /> 2. The monitoring systems being used are PETROME:TER model 20 <br /> confined space monitors. The sensors utilized in this <br /> alarm system are designed to "sense" water, petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon liquid or vapor and send an electronic: <br /> signal to the alarm panel. <br /> 3. The tanks are monitored in the annular spare between the <br /> inner and outer walls and sump where all suction plumbing <br /> is located. <br /> 4. The day foreman is responsible for monitoring and <br /> maintenance of the equipment. <br /> 5 If an alarm occurs or potential emergency is spotted the <br /> employee discovering the problem will rep.-art it to the day <br /> foreman. The day foreman will : <br /> A. Shut off the electricty to the pumps at the emergency <br /> pup switch. <br /> B. Determine if the alarm is an actual emergency or an <br /> equipment- malfunction by pressing the system test <br /> button on the alarm panel. <br /> C. Determine if the release or threatened release poses a <br /> significant present or potential hazard to human <br /> health, safety, property or the environment by using <br /> the following criteria : <br /> 1. . Employee safety. <br /> 2. Public Safety. <br /> 3. Quantity of released or potentially released <br /> material.. <br /> 4. Off site consequences if any. <br /> `i. Material type and conditions of release. ( i. e. <br /> flammable liquid released into a storm drain etc. ) <br />
