Kith, R.E.H.S (San Joaquin
County,Environmental Health Division, Public Health Services). There is a small area
under the previous location of fuel island which needs to be overexcavted. Product spills
may have occured due to faulty pipe connection from beneath the fuel pump. The spill
` appeared to be confined to the surface area of soil sample D-2 (3.0'). Over excavation of
dispensor soil sample D-2 (3.0')to a depth of 5' and core sampling for collection of soil
sample at that location, would alleviate the hot spot. Request for site closure would be
r submitted, pending resampling of said area.
It is recommended that excavation soil piles from overexcavation of soil sample D-2
(3.0') and soil samples SP-1.1 to SP-1.8 be transported and disposed of at Forward
Landfill, a Class II landfill for treatment and disposal. Excavation soil piles of soil
samples SP-2.1 to SP-2.3 be reused as tank backfill material. All concrete debris has been
transported and disposed of to a recycling facilaty.
r
