All tanks and connecting lines shall be purged of the product and rinsate material. <br /> Rinsate material shall be handled as a hazardous waste: <br /> a) Requirements for dry ice use: <br /> 1) 15 lbs. per 1,000 gallon capacity for diesel tanks <br /> 2) 30 lbs. per 1,000 gallon capacity for gasoline tanks <br /> 6. Cap openings on all tanks before removing tanks from site. <br /> a) Nitrogen - tank must be capped to maintain nitrogen blanket. <br /> b) carbon dioxide gas - tank must be capped to maintain gas blanket. <br /> c) The use of dry ice requires a vent hole for pressure relief. <br /> 1) Vent cap will have 1/B inch opening on top. <br /> 7) Empty underground tanks, if not properly cleaned, are considered hazardous waste. <br /> Requirements for handling: <br /> a) Must be hauled to a certified hazardous waste site. <br /> b) Truck must be certified to haul hazardous waste. <br /> c) Must be able to present a hazardous waste manifest before leaving the site. <br /> 8) Equipment to hoist tank must berated for the calculated load: <br /> a) Equipment must not be strained. <br /> b) Tanks are not to be dragged. <br /> Note.
