APPENDIX C.1
OPERATING PROCEDURE NO. HS-601
601. 0 CALIBRATION OF MONITORING INSTRUMENTS FOR HEALTH AND
SAFETY
601. 1 PURPOSE
It is essential that each piece of hazardous waste site
monitoring equipment be calibrated on a routine basis. This
assures that a given monitoring instrument is both working and
working with a reasonable degree of accuracy. This procedure
outlines required calibration frequencies and techniques.
601.2 FREQUENCY OF CALIBRATION
The following instruments must be calibrated daily before
use:
0 Combustible Gas Indicator (CGI)
o Oxygen Meter
0 HNU Photoionization Detector (PI101)
(As well as other photoionization detectors such as
the Photovac TIP, AID OVM, etc. )
o Organic Vapor Analyzer (OVA)
o Air Sampling Pumps (various flow rates)
The following instruments require an annual factory
calibration:
o Radiation Survey Meter
HAS-PR0601 HS-601-1 November 1990
