Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202-2708 <br /> RE: Report on Sampling at Bottom of Overexcavation of Tank Removal Pit— South of <br /> Joe's Travel Plaza,Northeast Comer Intersection Harlan Road and Thomsen <br /> Street, Lathrop, California. <br /> Dear Mr.Naidu; <br /> This letter transmits the results of soil and groundwater samples collected May 18,2007 <br /> under the observation of Ms. Margaret Laagorio from the bottom of the overexcavation <br /> pit at the removal site of two guesstimated 500 gallon single wall steel tanks at South of <br /> Joe's Travel Plaza,at the northeast corner of the intersection Harlan Road and Thomsen <br /> Street in Lathrop,California.This letter is submitted on behalf of Watton Engineering, <br /> Inc. <br /> First encountered groundwater was exposed at a depth of between 11 and 11.5 feet below <br /> the adjacent ground surface.A grab sample of the water ponded in a shallow hole at the <br /> northwest comer of the excavation was collected by pumping it to the surface with a <br /> peristaltic pump.A soil sample was collected from the sidewall of this deeper area <br /> immediately adjacent to the shallow hole from which the groundwater sample was <br /> retrieved. <br /> A copy of the laboratory analytical report and chain-of-custody documentation are <br /> attached.
