REMOVAL (3) 10,000 GALLON GASOLINE
LOCATION: 2525 HUTCHINS
Mr. Trevena,
Thank you for responding in such a timely manner to the permit application we have submitted.
This update is to confirm our receipt of your response letter. We are immediately responding to the
corrective actions you addressed in the six line items in your letter dated 09/23/96.
1.) I have contacted the owners representative and we should have an EPA I.D. # by the end of
the week.
2.) The site specific health& safety plan is attached to this update.
3.) Each of the 10,000 gallon U.S.T.'s will be filled with 300 Ibs. of dry ice for a total of 900 tbs.,
to displace the oxygen contents of each tank. Verification will be completed with a LEL/02
meter as to the internal conditions of the tanks prior to removal.
4.) Page 6 has been forwarded to the owner for his signature.
5.) Page 9 has been forwarded to the owner for his signature.
6.) The U.S.T.'s will be decontaminated by using the triple rinse method. We propose to first
wash the interior of the tanks with a hot water pressure unit and soap injection. Then each
of the tanks will be rinsed several times to remove all of the soap and residual fuel products
that may be present. The actual removal of these liquids will be completed by American
Valley Environmental Services pump truck as the washing is occurring.
10624 Olive Avenue, Oakdale, CA 95361 (209) 847-8757 9 Fax (209) 847-7744
